Portrait is an artistic representation of a person and an expression of the emotions. The English word emotion comes from the Latin word emovere meaning to move out. Which indicates a close relationship between emotion and body movements.
We were analyzing how body interacts with itself through the dance as an expression of the emotions. Dance uses the body as an instrument. Body language can be exaggerated and abstracted in order to show an infinite number of feelings, subtle moods and emotions. With this project we were seeking to capture an abstract movement in a way to create stories and emotional content.
